Beach & Sea Safety Project
Belle Vue Feasibility Study
The project consists of a feasbility study that examined various options for increased and improved use of the North Devon Showground.
The study identified:-
- The financial viability of the various options under consideration
- The likely take-up of any educational or vocational training programmes
- The number and type of local producers that may benefit from this type of outlet
- Existing facilities for vocational training in agriculture and horticulture as well as any potential links
- The environmental impact of the preferred option, including traffic impact on the surrounding area
- Potential partners both for training and marketing
- The potential sources for capital funding for the future development of the site
- Any impact on the North Devon Show
UK Biosphere Reserve Conference
The Biosphere Reserve centres on the Taw Torridge Esturay and is the first in the UK to meet the Seville criteria. The project held a two day conference for delegates from 13 Biosphere reserves in the UK in addition to delegates from UNESCO and European Reserves. The conference examined reserve management under the Seville criteria, which includes sustainable economic development. The reserve is centred on rural land use with implications for agriculture and communities.

Business Ability Feasibility Study
Undertook a feasibility study which identified:-
- Number of people in the area who are disabled and will benefit
- Their ages and demography
- Current level of skills
- Skills required to enable them to run successful businesses
- Development of funding strategy, both long and short term
