Local Food For Local Schools

In co-operation with Devon Food Links, TAG 21 will:

  • Carry out a baseline survey of how much food is already in local schools
  • Identify models of good practice within the North West Devon LEADER+ area and learn from them
  • Clarify the barriers to local purchase within the school catering service
  • Link with existing projects across the region and with Cumbria's award winning scheme
  • Raise awareness of local food issues with governors, teachers, parents and children
  • Promote, publicise and encourage participation in the Local Food Events

They had a successful conference at Woolsery Village Hall in October. As a result they have formed a Food Action Group to explore solutions. For further information please contact the North West Devon LEADER+ Office.
